These words were spoken by our Founder, “Dad” Frank S. Land at our 1928 annual session referring to the beauty and grandeur of a painting that was first unveiled that year. The painting is entitled “Chivalry” and depicts a young DeMolay of the period with a knight in full armor riding a white horse in the background. Included on the painting are the words “All that was best in Ancient Chivalry lives now in DeMolay. A Fraternity of Wonderful Inspiration à Young men 16-21.” In a banner at the bottom of the painting are spelled out our seven cardinal virtues.
